I wonder if I was just spoiled with quality when I was younger and consistently going to the theater, or weather I'm just getting crotchety now. I drove the half hour to Slidell today to see Forbidden Broadway, Vol ? (the front of the program said one, but all the artwork said two, also it included a Wicked song as well as acts that I know pre-date Wicked, so maybe it was an amalgamation) It was not great though not awful either, and I suppose you could fault me for going to Slidell, but I didn't see any reason that it would automatically be worse than say Media or Malvern were I have seen very good productions. There was one girl I wanted desperately to like, but she was ridiculously nasal. One guy (who appears to be a drama teacher) who I really liked, another girl who was pretty good at the impressions (except for Barbara which was off) and clearly their dancer. The others, meh.

On the other hand, that may just have been the most comfortable theater I've ever been in. There was plenty of leg room and the seats were very cushy (though they did recline to a strange degree). I also had a great seat, despite only reserving on Friday for a Sunday matinee, which I chalk up to only wanting one seat which is easy to fill in.

Anyway, January's show down, now to find something for February.

It's a new year and I have a new header courtesy of the gift giving challenge at [livejournal.com profile] gleeverse .  I also have a list of extensive resolution-like things, but expressed in the infinitely more doable format of [livejournal.com profile] mission101 .  I became aware of the mission of making a list of 101 goals to complete over 1001 days (or ~ 2.75).  Each goal is supposed to be realistic and measurable.  I've tried to stay away from having too many goals that require large out put of money or that hinge on the co-operation of someone else.  Many goals have numbers after them to indicate how they will be measured; however, if you see something that you think I might need to further define quantitatively, please let me know.  Most of these are things that I have been meaning to do but somehow never get around to,  some are habits I hope to take with me past the end date, some are fears I hope to get over, and a couple are just silly fun.  I also have three blank spaces at the end for goals that may come upon me during the journey.

Also because these things are always exciting when they are fresh, here is a picture for today.  A skein of yarn that I bought with the intention of making Avenue Q themed key-fobs, and which is now happily residing in my Ravelry stash.
