So when did the whole land challenge community thing start.  I know this time last year I had never heard of the concept and now I am in three (and oh, how I really need to not join any others).  This fact leads me to believe that they are a fairly recent invention, but then I'm not always the most up to date on these things, so maybe they've been around for years and I've just never noticed.  I can be oblivious like that.  Really the evolution of fandom fascinates me.  I think it is my inner anthropologist.

Anyway, this all came about because I need to tell you to join [livejournal.com profile] sorkinverse you know, if you are interested in the works of Aaron Sorkin and interested in a challenge community.  If you're not, you could join anyway, but I don't think that would be terribly enjoyable for you.  Right now we're at the very beginning, what with the making of team banners and going crazy over trying to guess movies from random screen caps (or maybe the going crazy thing is just me).  So yeah, lots of fun, with The West Wing, Studio 60, and Sportsnight, what could be better than that?

Toenails

Most unoriginal subject line ever! I had a better one earlier, but I forget what is was and I don;t think I should watch last week's West Wing for the fourth time because that would be really dorky and obsessive. Suffice to say the subject line was going to come from Santos in Sit room, so you could probably figure it out if you wanted to.

Is it one word "toenails" or is it two "toe nails". Either way I painted them because it is sandel season and that is what one does. They look like crap. I really should spend more time cultivating girly talents.

Also why is everyone's journal friend's locked. It like randomly lj-stalking people I don't know and living vicariously through their much more exciting lives. And yet they insist on making it impossible for me. Grrr.

1. Last week audiography used the 60's as their theme, which is where my title song came from. It was also, incidentally, used on one of the episodes of the West Wing last year, which makes me a big ol' dork.

2. I was fired today and am really happy. I didn't like what I was doing, and it was less of a "OMG your horrible leave" as a "We don't think you babble to the customers enough." So that's good. Anyway I'll be back in West Chester for awhile should anyone want to do things at night or on the weekend.

3. The above also means that I may be visiting NC sooner than previously suspected (you know or at all). w00t!

4. Now I shall take some low paying job that I like better. Hopefully in a book store, or movie store, or something. And I shall volunteer at the Historical Society. Then I can get museum experience to see that it is actually something I want to do and also so I can convince the various graduate schools that I know enough about history to major in Historical Archaeology. *happy dance*

So for those of you keeping track of the wanderings of Pinksonia the Nomad (and wow how Pinksonia does not sound like a name for a nomad) I am informing you that I am leaving Washington and shall be located in Wisconsin for at least the next week. Please if I should express a sudden desire to pack up my car and drive to New Hampshire remind me that it's a rental car and therefor probably considered stealing, and also that it is not an election year. Thank you.

Wow, isn't that just the best title anyway?

1. I am such a dork. Driving both to and from the airport we passed signs for Nassau and all I could think was "That's where the Bartlett for America headquarters were". I have quite possibly seen to much West Wing even if I haven't watched it in a while.

2. Visiting my Aunt is the best because she has pets. Three whole dogs. One > bernese mountain dog
named Duece and two > norwich terriers
named Tyla (possibly Tyler) and Brady. I think the latter two sound like yuppie children, but they are named after football players. The terriers are so adorable, they put their little heads up between your knees when you sit down and look at you with big eyes saying "pet me, pet me". Duece sits down next to you looking all regal, knowing that you can't miss him.

3. Played risk again with undy_niable and his friend (who may have an lj but I don't know). Did much better, as they kept going back and forth trying to conquer Asia, and I was left on my own to take over Africa, South America, and North America.

4. Found out that the Shriner's parade is the highlight of living in Hanover. Not nearly as exciting as Mardi Gras. I think I may have been ruined for parades for life.

5. Dad has found some job for me to apply to at his office, which does not have anything to do with Archaeology or Museums, but which I can't really not apply to. I would at least get lots of money for graduate school, and would be in the South West with lots of free time to volunteer at a musuem and tour all the southwest arch. sites (or at least some, since I don't think anyone could ever see them all). We'll see how it all goes

I think that's it.

I'm feeling compelled to post something although nothing interesting has happened in the last week or so. Now, it can be argued, from looking at the other entries here, that nothing interesting ever happens, but that is beside the point. I think that my sudden desire to post came from my lack of desire to make a cheat sheet (or well and information sheet since it is allowed and therefore not cheating) for my physical chemistry test. I seem to have very little desire to look at any more delta U's, p initials, or entropies of formation. I should probably clear up that issue before my test today, but chances aren't looking that good.
Other things I can ramble about #1: I have discovered my schools music library, which I have always known existed, but which I have never used because you can't browse the CD's which annoys me. Much to my delight, they have plenty of the more obscure theater soundtracks from eras which are not the 90s, so I can now listen to all those shows I had only ever read about before. Unfortunately I can only do so two at a time. For my first checking out period I took A Chorus Line, which I actually own, but on tape so I didn't bring it with me, and Nunsense. The guy checking me out even felt a need to comment on my selections, so I felt like I was back at the library at home with the guy who felt a need to tell me that Hair was very controversial when it first came out.
Other things I can ramble about #2: Oh, how very much I love the West Wing. Toby, Toby and, oh yes, Toby! There was the brother dying and the crying and CJ and *sob.* Now, if I could just train the roommates to wait until the end of an episode to ask any questions they might have because, chances are, that the question will be answered eventually as part of the narrative through line, which is when I am going to figure out the answer too. GRRRR. Its not like I feel a need to ask character or plot questions about The Simpsons or Malcolm in the Middle.

Edited because the subject box looked so empty and lonely without anything in it.
