I'm now going to post some over due, or at least a couple of weeks/months after everyone else did them memes.  First I have that one that the person tells you five things they associate with you and you have to elaborate on them.  I got my words from [livejournal.com profile] mcgarrygirl78 , but I lost her original entry so I can't copy and paste the rules as you usually do.
My Five Things )

Then there is the great 25 things of facebook thing that I was actually tagged on twice.  I will be posting this there, but since I'm on LJ way more than I'm ever on facebook, I thought it might be worthwhile to stick them up here too.

And My 25 Things )

[Error: unknown template qotd]In high school I was in a community theater group called the Encore Players.  We were supposed to do "musicals with a message," although how well we ever succeeded is up for debate.  Anyway, the two years I was in (before the directors moved away) we did Godspell, which is a musical based on the gospel of Matthew.  I had the part of Sonia (who, if you know the show, is the character who sings "Turn Back O Man" and tells the story of "The Good Samaritan").  Traditionally, when the show is done by adults the characters are presented as clowns to give them an excuse to act childish.  Since, we were all children anyway (and therefore had an excuse to act childish) the directors decided that for costumes we would each wear a pair of black overall and each character would have a different color shirt.  Sonia's color was pink.  So I was, and still am while online, Pinksonia.

I haven't done a meme in a while, so I'm going to resurrect (and by resurrect I mean steal from [livejournal.com profile] jedi_of_urth circa a week ago) one of those ones I always wanted to do back in the day but didn't 'cause there was only two people on my flist and they wouldn't have known a fandom if it bit them on the ass.  I'm not saying it's going to be any better today, but I can hope - right? Also, yes I realize the for awhile has been punctuated with long periods of inactivity.  What can I say, I'm fickle.  Also, having a bit of a crazy watching british television from bittorrent.  Feel free to bring the recommendations.

Anyways, here we go:

Name a character from one of my fandoms and I'll give you one or more of the following:

(a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon
(b) a reason he/she sucks
(c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes
(d) five things that never happened to that character and/or
(e) five people that character never fell in love with and why

pinksonia: (Relaxed)
A meme, snagged from everyone and their mother:

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)

On a completely unrelated note, I am once again kicking myself for forgetting to bring my camera into the field.  I had it in my field pack for a while and then took it out to use on the weekend and never replaced it.  Anyway, I was surveying a cow field, and there in the middle someone had stuck a political sign.  They were extolling their choice for Agricultural custodian, or what ever the official title is.  Now my question is, who was the intended audience for that sign?  The cows?

So, I said no memes for a while.  I lied.  Here is the ever revolving seven interests memes in which someone, in this case [personal profile] mcgarrygirl78, asked me about seven of my interest and if you want me to, I will ask about seven of yours.  Also if anyone has a burning desire to know about interests of mine which are not covered below, you can ask that too.

I promise I don't do these that often. All evidence to the contrary - I know. Anyway I will be trying out the lovely interview meme, mostly because I always wanted to be interviewed, but I only ever saw it on journals I was lj-stalking, and that's creepy enough without asking to be interviewed. So, follow the directions, or ignore this it doesn't matter, but here's how it goes:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal. <----more likely to be my option.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

From the [livejournal.com profile] altfriday5:

1. Do you often have songs stuck in your head? Does it bother you? What sort of songs get stuck for you?

I go off and on with getting songs stuck in my head. It usually happens when I am learning a new song, and I get only the line or two I know stuck in my head. Or I have songs from musicals, the majority of what I know well, that are germane to the situation at hand, like "Lusty Month of May" during the entire month of May.

2. Do you converse with yourself in your head? How distinct are the pieces (from "I'm alone in there" to "there are several distinct people who inhabit our body")?

I have conversations in my head all the time, but they are me talking to someone I know not me talking to myself. Usually I'm going over how a conversation should have gone, or practicing a conversation I need (or would like) to have in the future.

3. How easy it is for you to do math in your head?

Err. Not so easy. People expect me to be able to do this well since I majored in Chemistry and had to take a lot of math classes. In general, I can do all sorts of complicated math but adding and subtracting still often escape me. One of my secrets is that I never did learn my multiplication tables.

4. How easy is it for you to visualize things in your head?

This I do well in some ways. I'm really good at those exercises where you have to visualize the back side of a pictured object or at finding my way by following a visualized map. On the other hand, I'm not so go at the visualizing that involves seeing myself do something. Like when you're supposed to visualize yourself giving a speech perfectly to lessen stage fright.

5. Anything else we should know about that's going on in your head?

I don't think so. I hope not.

Reply and I'll give you a letter. Find ten songs that start with that letter and post them to your journal.

I was given "H"
And now, in semi-alphabetical order from my iPod...

1. Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley, (It's actually by Leonard Cohen, but I have the Jeff Buckley version.  In fact, I apparently have it twice)
2. Hand In My Pocket - Alanis Morissette  (Oh, Middle School! How I do not miss you, not even a little bit.)
3.  Happiness - You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown
4.  Hazy Shade Of Winter - Bangles  (Another cover.  I believe it was originally done by Simon and Garfunkel. Correct me it I'm wrong.)
5.  He Wanted To Say - Ragtime    (The culmination of the plot.  How can you not love a song narrated by Emma Goldman which ends with the words "I know how to blow things up")
6.  He Went To Paris - Jimmy Buffett   (Have to include at least one song from my childhood)
7.  Heffle Cuckoo Fair  (I'm actually singing in my version of this.  From West Minster Choir College Summer Vocal Institute 2000 - Ms. Gray's Soprano Class)
8.  Here Comes The Sun - Linda Eder   (Another cover of, incase you can't tell, the Beatles.  In her liner notes for this song, Linda Eder says that there is not point in doing a cover unless you can put your own spin on the song.  That may be why I like covers so much.)
9.  High School Never Ends - Bowling For Soup  ("Katie had a baby so I guess Tom's straight.")

And my favorite, which just happens to come last alphabetically....

10. Hold On - The Secret Garden    (This song makes me want to have a Yorkshire accent)

I think the actual spirit of this meme is to post the songs so people can down load them, which I'm not really sure how to do.  If you would like a copy, drop me a line and I will see what I can figure out.  Okay!

3. I attempted to make yogurt. Right now it still looks like milk, but the home made granola came out okay.

You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean you're pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.

I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer. Your sense of humor takes the most effort to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion.
