So, I said no memes for a while. I lied. Here is the ever revolving seven interests memes in which someone, in this case
mcgarrygirl78, asked me about seven of my interest and if you want me to, I will ask about seven of yours. Also if anyone has a burning desire to know about interests of mine which are not covered below, you can ask that too.

libraries
I've always been a big reader. Libraries are perfect because I can get all the books I want to read without huge expense my addiction would require. Also, they provide the opportunity to try out all kinds of books. I can expand my interests without the risk of purchasing books. If I rented from the library, I don't feel as guilty about putting down a book I don't like or find poorly written. Plus, If I really like something I can always buy a copy later.
As and example of my love of libraries, one of my friends from study abroad asked me why every time he saw me I was either going to the library or coming back from the library. It was simply because that's where I spent all my time.
Vodka sauce
My favorite thing to order at Italian restaurants. The pasta doesn't matter, just the sauce.
Marching Bands
My junior year of high school I joined the color guard (flags) because all of my friend were in the band and therefor unavailable on Friday and Saturday nights leading to a deficiency in my social life. It was some of the most fun I had in high school, and probably the only time I was in that group of seniors that the underclassman speculate about. Unfortunately, the college I went to didn't have a marching band - they started on the year after I graduated. My best friend does here graduate work study with that band, so now I volunteer with them at football games and during Mardi Gras.
I'm a strange marching band enthusiast because I don't play an instrument, and I don't particularly like instrumental music. What I do like it the showman ship of making formations and the integration music, props, and movement. Also. there is nothing quite like a good drum cadence to get your heart pumping.
Ballroom Dancing
This is an interest I developed in College. I believe I started because I thought having partner dancing skills would help with musical theater. Either way, it turned into one of my main ways of meeting people while studying abroad, and continues to be something I do at least once a month. I wish I could take lessons even now, but unfortunately my schedule doesn't permit it.
With regards to specific dances Jive (or Swing) is my favorite with Waltz and Tango following close behind. I probably know more Cha-Cha than anything else because it seem to be the most popular dance among other people, so it was covered more extensively in the lessons I took.
Company Towns
This is the topic I would like to do further archaeological research into, perhapce as a graduate dissertation. I think company towns are a interesting reflection of the process of reform as the industrial revolution moved onwards. For the most part, people were trying to give their workers a better life and failing miserably, often focusing on cosmetic problems while ignoring more important issues. Also, as towns built in one fell swoop they are an interesting reflection of ideals of beauty and the usage of space, with regard to layout and building placement.
Knitting
I have to keep busy. I love watching tv and movies, but I can't just sit there and watch. So I knit. I feel productive, I have nice gifts from my family and friends, I can make myself clothes that I otherwise would be able to find, and I have something to do even in the most rural towns.
William H Macy
I once had a conversation with a friend about how there seems to be certain actors and actresses who are in everything and are consistently good. She said that they were all British and was wondering why that was, while I maintained that there are American actors who do the same thing. William H. Macy was my example. Also, he was in Sportsnight, and anyone who does Sorkin is okay by me.
