I haven't done a meme in a while, so I'm going to resurrect (and by resurrect I mean steal from
jedi_of_urth circa a week ago) one of those ones I always wanted to do back in the day but didn't 'cause there was only two people on my flist and they wouldn't have known a fandom if it bit them on the ass. I'm not saying it's going to be any better today, but I can hope - right? Also, yes I realize the for awhile has been punctuated with long periods of inactivity. What can I say, I'm fickle. Also, having a bit of a crazy watching british television from bittorrent. Feel free to bring the recommendations.
Anyways, here we go:
Name a character from one of my fandoms and I'll give you one or more of the following:
(a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon
(b) a reason he/she sucks
(c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes
(d) five things that never happened to that character and/or
(e) five people that character never fell in love with and why

Date: 2008-10-22 10:17 pm (UTC)1. Temperance Brennan is in her forties, has a college-aged daughter, ex-husband, and a drinking problem (in other words book!Tempe is my personal cannon).
2. For Tv!Tempe: She knows more of the pop-culture references that her colleges bat around than she lets on. Really, the way people interact with popular culture shows a great deal about their society and having the ability to watch that kind of interaction is way more interesting that making a quick joke. Also, it makes Booth uncomfortable when he has to explain, and making Booth uncomfortable is always fun.
3. Before the department got their current labs, Tempe used to have to walk through some of the museum exhibits to get to labs. When she did that, she used to carry the bones around in shopping bags from up-scale department stores. It causes less fuss among the museum patrons and school parties when they can't see the skull you're holding. (okay so that one came from one of the stories my forensic-anthropology professor told in class, but I always thought it was cool – so I'm co-opting it for Brennan)
Also, thanks for the recs. Coupling and Little Britain are now on my list to check out.
