Wow, isn't that just the best title anyway?

1. I am such a dork. Driving both to and from the airport we passed signs for Nassau and all I could think was "That's where the Bartlett for America headquarters were". I have quite possibly seen to much West Wing even if I haven't watched it in a while.

2. Visiting my Aunt is the best because she has pets. Three whole dogs. One > bernese mountain dog
named Duece and two > norwich terriers
named Tyla (possibly Tyler) and Brady. I think the latter two sound like yuppie children, but they are named after football players. The terriers are so adorable, they put their little heads up between your knees when you sit down and look at you with big eyes saying "pet me, pet me". Duece sits down next to you looking all regal, knowing that you can't miss him.

3. Played risk again with undy_niable and his friend (who may have an lj but I don't know). Did much better, as they kept going back and forth trying to conquer Asia, and I was left on my own to take over Africa, South America, and North America.

4. Found out that the Shriner's parade is the highlight of living in Hanover. Not nearly as exciting as Mardi Gras. I think I may have been ruined for parades for life.

5. Dad has found some job for me to apply to at his office, which does not have anything to do with Archaeology or Museums, but which I can't really not apply to. I would at least get lots of money for graduate school, and would be in the South West with lots of free time to volunteer at a musuem and tour all the southwest arch. sites (or at least some, since I don't think anyone could ever see them all). We'll see how it all goes

I think that's it.

Bored, Bored, Bored, Bored, Bored.

But going to New Hampshire to visit my Aunt tomorrow, so [livejournal.com profile] undy_niable can look at colleges. I get to work in her store, since my uncle will be taking time off to drive to said colleges. I like so much that my mother didn't give me any details on the trip, like when we were leaving or getting back until today. Now I look like a flake 'cause I made plans that I can't follow through on. Grrrr. Any way...

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] fermezlebush, sorry I can't come.

*edited because I can't spell in french any better now than I could in high school

We played risk today. Logically I know that rolling the dice is completely random and I have a one in six chance of getting any one number. I know that using a large number of rolls (say the amount throughout an entire game) all numbers should come up equally. I know this. Yet some how, I have the worst luck ever rolling. I spend the majority of my time getting ones or twos. I can have 20 armies and still not beat the country next to me with two. ARRRRG. I hate this game.

oh and...
[livejournal.com profile] undy_niable: Yes! I got Alberta. I'm gonna dominate.

When we re-shuffled (cause the directions said you needed three players and we had to deal our dummy player cards) I got Alberta and I so didn't dominate.

So for years [livejournal.com profile] undy_niable has tried to institute a family game night, but since my parents don't like to play games it always ends up being just us. Today we played scrabble in the middle of the afternoon 'cause we were bored. Our game

undy_niable: Tau?
me: it's a word. It's a letter of the greek alphabet.
undy_niable: *disbelieving look*
me: What?! It's commonly used in English.
undy_niable: By who?
me: Members of the Gamma Tau chapter of Phi Sigma Pi.

After much complaining I looked it up and it is of course the nineteenth letter of the Greek alphabet, and if you think that is illegal it is also a subatomic particle. I didn't know that, but it works for me. Anyway I won by five points because I used up all my letters so he got -5 points. Just thought I'd share

So that title really has nothing to do with this entry except that it is in the song I'm listening to right now. I came across someone who did all there updates in numbered form which I think I am going to steal. At least I'm going to steal it for this entry since my life went and got exciting this week. Well exciting for me.

1. Uncle Bob brought a lady friend to dinner. This would be the uncle ( actually great uncle) who I don't really like. He's one of those people who thinks he knows everything about every subject. He doesn't, but he just keeps arguing and talking ever more loudly until everyone else gives up. Apparently I'm on his shit-list because I wouldn't let him tell everyone about a large boat mored in Brighton which you can tour because there isn't one. Apparently he thought he would know better having visited one, than I would having lived there for nine months. Grrr. Anyway, the lady friend thing was kind of creapy because a.) she was vaguely famous and we were supposed to be excited but we had never heard of her b.) she was in my mother's class highschool making her much younger than U.B. and c.) U.B. is the biggest mysoginist I know and we always thought he was secretly gay. Lady-friend was cool because a.) she called U.B. on his playing on the racial epithet game and b.) she almost made U.B. pleasant ( he must not have shown his true character yet).

2. Went to see Christian at the beach. Much better than last year, cause I actually got to go. It never accurs to me to actually go to the beach or the pool and generally if asked I will say no, but once I get to the beach I usually have fun. I actually like the water (when I was little I was saving up my money to install a pool in our yard). The problem is the fact that I always get sun burnt, no matter how much sun screen I apply. The gradual sun I got during my five weeks of field school must have payed off because this year I did not get sun burned at all. GO ME!

3. Beach trip part 2. I need to find someone else who hates rollar coasters but loves circle rides like the tea cups. Going to ammusement parks with my freinds if quite boring for me since I don't like the rides they go on, and no one will go on the rides I like. GRRR. Also, why can't we go on the swings with flip flops? I understand that if you wear them they might (probably will) come off, but why couldn't we sit on them, or hold them, or leave them by the entrance? Why deny us entry.

4. Listened to Rent for the first time in a long while. Wow, I love that show. Even the long talky parts.

5. The predictions list that I never saw has apparently been located. Oh excitement, even if we generally suck at making predictions, since mostly the point was to predict the funniest thing possible.

Well I guess that's it. Anyone want to add something? [livejournal.com profile] roguey152 ?

The family is back from their vacation in North Carolina, and apparently they are now in the possession of a piece of property there. My parents don't seem to understand the generally accepted forms of vacation souvenirs. [livejournal.com profile] undy_niable is currently reading the book (what book you ask? oh silly you.) and he needs to hurry up so I can discuss with someone. I did discuss with [profile] glowwormtu but that was over aim and its more difficult. Really I have nothing to say but I felt the need to post more often so yeah.

For all of you keeping track.

1. Went to see The Princess Diaries Two with [livejournal.com profile] undy_niable. We were at the 12:30 showing with all the little, not even tween yet, girls. Mostly I went so he would have someone to go with, since Anne Hathoway is his movie girlfreind. I still think he should have dressed up in a big old trench coat and gone by himself. I wonder if they would have let him in?

2. Drove to New Orleans avec ma mere. We thought it was going to take us the better part of three days, but we so could have made in two. As it was we got here at 10:00 yesterday morning. We had pretty much no traffic the entier time: the worst parts were probably West Chester and New Orleans. I drove fast, which is a big accomplishment and the car didn't break down, so all is good.

3. Set up new dorm room -- and it is looking mighty fine if I do say so myself. I managed to purchase an S-video cable, instead of the one to plug into the wall, so right now we have a tv with no channels. Shall have to remeady that soon. Played Trivial Pursuit with two of the roomies last night and no one knows who the forth roomie is. We shall so see.

Yup, that is about it. I will now go get some really expensive books inorder to further my educational progress.

Me: I put the sheet that I kicked off in the middle of the night back on the bed and a spider crawled out.
Mom: Thats because you never vacuum your room
Me: How is vacuuming going to get rid of the spiders.
Mom: You vacuum up their webs, then they don't have anywhere to live and they go away.
Me: the web comes out of the spider's butt, if I vacuum the web they'll just make a new one.
Mom: then vacuum their butt.
Me: ?

Okay, so I thought it was a relatively funny conversation. Oh and

Went to the Bare Naked Ladies/ Alanis Morissette Au Natural concert. I the words of everyone, according to the guy hanging out outside of the bathrooms, I LOVE the Bare Naked Ladies and Alanis Morissette is pretty good too. She sings through her nose wich makes it nearly impossible to pick out any lyric as a recognizable word in the English language. My mother even decided to pretend that she was in fact singing in another language.

For posterity, or in case he gets famous, the opening act was Mark McAdams or Mark McGavin -- He mumbled so we're not really sure wich. Now if he turns up again I will be sure to day I saw him way back when. Got a tee-shirt that my brother says is boring, but which I like. I wish it had dates on the back, but only the ones with naked people on the front had them. And well, I don't really want to walk around with naked people on the front of my shirt.

I will now go to bed, and will possibly post the spider conversation I had with my mom tomorrow

First off - I love my Ipod. I can't believe it took me this long to get one. I am minorly annoyed that I can't sing out loud with it. Well, I could but then I would majorly annoy other people with it. [livejournal.com profile] undy_niable tells me that I look like an apple add, writing on my power book and listening to my Ipod with my old imac sitting in the back ground.

My little cousin has been here for the last couple of days. Can I say how glad I am that I do not have little people around all the time. I can live a good long while without having another dirty sock thrown at me. I have never watched as much Cartoon Network as I have in the last two days (and unfortunately none of it was Evo). If I ever start a super-hero group I will make sure that all members have names instead of numbers, cause really who can remember who is which number.

Went to the Goshen fair for something like 15 min. Was probably my best year for that fair as I got to leave when I got bored with it and I got a rubber ducky and some of the ever so delightful donuts. They did not; however, have battered mushrooms this year, which greatly disappointed me.

I supposed to be at the beach right now, but am not. Anyone who went -- How was it?
