The Bleakness of Christmas Dramas - Especially those watched in January

Just finished watching the Cranford Christmas special - did you see what I said the last post re: period dramas.  First off, there was a ridiculous amount of death.  I kind of love the fact that British Christmas programing can be really bleak, it's a nice change after our un-relenting American shmaltz.  Not that I mind shmaltz.  Second, Tim Curry makes a ridiculous Victorian magician, and I think that made my night. 

Right now I'm having fun bidding on random things that have no other bids on help_haiti.  I may end up with more icons than I ever needed, but I hate to have anyone feeling left out.  Particularly not when they are trying to do something nice.
