So you know what takes forever? Importing CDs.  I wanted to do this over my vacation, when I had access to my brother's far more extensive CD collection.  But, alas, my optical drive decided that it wasn't going to have any of this audio CD thing and would spit all of them out with out even reading it.  I finally got that taken care of, so here I am loading CDs and watching the Dr. Who I have Tivoed off Sci-Fi.  I'm very confused.

Woo-hoo for TiVo....one of man's finest inventions.

I love CDs. I have probably close to a thousand and I am that friend who people come to when they are looking for that one song that they used to love and cant find anymore. I have a friend who has even more CDs than me and she is the one I call when I need that song. I know I need an MP3 player but I am just so technologically inept, plugging things into my computer and downloading stuff is just a Latin word for disaster for me.

I agree, I love the tivo.

I'm only the friend people come to for a song if they know the song is from a musical. However, rarely do the people I know go looking for songs from musicals, so I am rarely that friend.

The MP3 player plugging in is not to bad once you get past the tediousness of getting all your music into the right format. I don't even want to think about how long that would take with a thousand CDs.
