Grrr, busy. But not really Grr.

pinksonia Wow have these last two weeks been busy! After two days building furniture and washing artifacts in the wonderful air conditioned office, I got sent to south western Louisiana for a pickup work for a project I worked on this time last year. Some how I started the week as general crew member, was in charge of a couple of areas by Tuesday, and in charge of the entire project by Thursday. Needless to say, that resulted in additional paperwork at night in addition to the normal day out in the field. The OCD part of myself enjoys the doing the paperwork which I can make nice an neat in contrast to the dirt of the field.
Then Monday we got to go back to the project we got kicked off of last 10-day. And the first thing they do -- break the rules. Crew chiefs are supposed to have attended a special safety training session. I have not attended this session and who do they send out as crew chief. At least it was just the for the one day until the normal crew chief came back from his vacation.
On Tuesday, we went back to the delineation that we had left half finished. I just wont end. We've now spent three days there and the end isn't even in sight. So far I've recorded 54 bags of artifacts and I have another grocery store bag full of artifact bags I have yet to record. I'll be doing that tomorrow night after we complete a couple of shovel tests we missed today. I like to keep all the bags in order, so I have to wait to see if those shovel tests will be positive or negative.
Finally today we had a safety meeting. Earlier we had been told that "Safety Steve" was taking a three month break - today we found out why. He's going to be on Big Brother ten. I don't know that I needed to know someone on a reality tv show, but now I do. So if you watch Big Brother, and see the gay rodeo cowboy, know that he is the man who spent months explaining why it is necessary that we wear hard hats in the woods.
Now back to paperwork. Also to ignoring the ant bits on my arm that alternate between itching and hurting. Lets hope this topical Benadryl works.
