memeage and politically minded cows

A meme, snagged from everyone and their mother:
You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out :)
On a completely unrelated note, I am once again kicking myself for forgetting to bring my camera into the field. I had it in my field pack for a while and then took it out to use on the weekend and never replaced it. Anyway, I was surveying a cow field, and there in the middle someone had stuck a political sign. They were extolling their choice for Agricultural custodian, or what ever the official title is. Now my question is, who was the intended audience for that sign? The cows?

1. First Name: Allison
2. Age 25.
3. Location: All over the South East US, but my apartment is in New Orleans. I refuse to be "from Louisiana," so I retain my parents address in Pennsylvania as my official address. I'll even be going there in a couple of weeks to get my car its yearly inspection.
4. Occupation: Archaeological Field Technician. Or as my brother likes to say, glorified ditch digger.
5. Partner: No. I would not be adverse to having one, but I'm horribly, horribly shy. Also, I'm in my place of residence for eight days a month, which makes it rather more difficult to meet people.
6. Kids: No. Thank God. I'm not a big fan of the children, so my friends think it's funny to wish obscene numbers of them on me.
7. Brothers/Sisters: One brother, Ryan and for a short time
undy_niable. He's five years younger than me, and says out loud all the things I think to my self. Also, he is 6'6 and plays college football as an Offensive Tackle. We like to have "fights" over whether football or marching band is more interesting.
8. Pets: My mother hates animals, so I had few pets growing up. Now I live in an apartment building which does not allow pets. A cat is one of the three things I've always wanted in life.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life: My life is actually pretty boring. I suppose the major things occupying my mind are:
11. Who are some of your closest friends:
I have this thing where I don't actually think that other people like me. I'm very reserved and tend to take a long to time to warm up to people.
Arynne, glowwormtu, is my closest friend. She was my roommate my senior year in college and now lives around the corner. I spend most of my time in New Orleans with her.
From high school my closest friends would be
roguey152 and Tom. I rarely see or talk to them, but when I do, we slip back into our familiar patterns.
Addendum (other things you should know about me):
The other two things I've always wanted in life are red hair and a window seat. I like to make things, but only when I have instructions to follow. Currently this translates to a lot of knitting. People don't touch me. I'd like to be touched more often, but I tense and get uncomfortable so people don't tend to do it. I'm finally embracing my geeky self that I formally denied. I'm going to dress up for the x-files movie; a friend is going to teach me d&d.

a. Trying to get promoted at work. I should be leading crews consistently now. Everyone says so, and yet I never get the chance. I would also like to move back over into the laboratory side of archaeology, but that doesn't seem to be working out.10. Parents: They live in Pennsylvania. My father and I share a sense of humor. My mother is Emily Gilmore.
b. Grad School - I really need to get at least a masters to move ahead in my profession. I need to get moving on stages working up to applying, mainly the contacting people in graduate departments to get my name out there. I just don't know how to do it. I mean, in general I do - call, email, etc, but in practice I don't know how to word that kind of email or what to say on the phone when I call.
c. I want to get singing back into my life. I've never been this long (about a year and a half) with out belonging to a choir or taking lessons.
