The new term of Nerd Wars started today. For those that don't know, Nerd Wars is a competition community on Ravelry where participants are divided into teams based on fandoms and complete needlework projects to prompts for points. I've been assigned to Team Jazz Hands (Musical Theater) which was my first choice, so yay. Now I just have to decide what costume piece to knit for the costume challenge. Or figure out a challenge to fit a baby sweater for my Cousin's new little girl into. Hmmmmm.

I made today when I was supposed to be working. My graphic ~skills~ continue to be in demand among the other analysts for making facebook graphics. Frankly that is a little scary.

I even have some artifact pictures that I took over a week ago that I should be posting. They were all sorts of informative about the different types of ceramics but alas I'm still feeling rather lazy so I guess that will wait until tomorrow.

I was on Jazz Hands for T4, when it was new.

Were you going to use multiple colors for the sweater? Or just one? Cause you could put it into Technical if you were going to do that. Or maybe tie it into a horror musical? And use both your TUP and get Geek Pride at the same time? Or maybe you could do it for intellectual, and use a particular color from your shield?

Cool. I was on Dumbledore's Army my last go through. It must have been T3 because I'm pretty sure that there wasn't a Team Jazz Hands yet since my choices were Tardis, DA, and Browncoat in that order.

To be fair, I haven't even picked a pattern yet for the sweater. I figure I will probably crochet a quick stuffie for the mixed fiber one, since I always do those out of left overs anyway. Mostly I'm trying to decide if I want to do a costume thing (since I am always knitting costume pieces) this month and the baby gift next month or get the baby gift done now. I probably wont end up actually gifting it until Christmas anyway so the timing wont matter.

I was a ninja in T3, it was my first tournament, and I had missed the sign-ups by a day.

Cool! I finally figured out what I'm doing for the Geek Pride category. Not sure about the more than one fiber one yet.

Anyway, I'm doing Nerd Wars for the first time and I'm on Team Tardis. So far I'm finding it to be pretty overwhelming.

Oh wow, I tried to be on Team Tardis my first time in Nerd Wars but got assigned to Dumbledore's army instead. The assignment probably ended up being a good thing as it was part of the chain that led to me applying for hogwartsishome. (I may have even come up with a whole explanation about why Hermione was totally a Doctor Who (Seven and Ace) fan in order to get my fandom points for some sort of Doctor Who based project.)

Yeah, these competitions can get overwhelming at times. I usually just knit what ever I was going to knit anyway and then figure out a way to make it fit. What kind of scarf are you doing?

I didn't know you had joined NW! :D Just remember, you don't have to do all 6 challenges. Just as many as you want and can do. shedubba is a super nice person, so go to her if you have questions.
