Today is supposed to be the St. Patrick's Day parade in New Orleans. It's currently raining, so I'm wondering how that is going to effect the schedule. I was really excited about actually trying to make an Irish stew this year. See during the parade, instead of throwing beads like at Mardi Gras (although they do some of that too) or just marching like paraders in other areas, the floats all throw carrots, potatoes, cabbage, celery and other stew like ingredients. Some people, of course, branch out into banana, raisins, chips, and other things I atleast wouldn't but in a stew. Then there is the handing out of flowers and kisses by the walking crews (including the Rolling Elvi who are always ammusing. Who wouldn't want to see a bunch of people dressed like Elvis riding on Vespas).
Hopefully, if nothing else, this rain will stop before 2:00 when I'm supposed to attend a crawfish boil at the Bulldog.
