Promised Pimping Post (or Yay! alliteration)

So here is the pimping post as promised.  I have two different land communities to bring your attention to. 

First up is drwholand which focuses on the universe of Doctor Who, using Classic Who, New Who, Torchwood, and The Sarah Jane Adventures (though there is a bit bias toward New Who among the participants).  With ~15 members per team (three teams) this is the smallest of the three land communities I've been a part of.  It is super laid back.  We get one puzzle or game, one writing challenge, and one graphics challenge per week (with about a week to complete them) so, I at least, never feel overwhelmed.  It always feels like everyone has a chance to win because there usually aren't that many entries to any one competition.  Really, if you have never been part of a land community before and are interested in checking the phenomenon our (and have some knowledge of Doctor Who) this would be a great stepping off point. 

I'm using this graphic 1. because I'm the mod of team Donna and there for am naturally biased toward the team and 2. because we are currently the smallest of the three teams and could use the additional members.  However, you are certainly welcome to join team jack or team doctor if you feel called too.  (of course, as with all land communities, the team name isn't really all that important.)

Next we have gleeverse which focuses, as you may have guessed, on the television show Glee.  Now this is a much larger land community, with the teams having close to forty members each (again there are three teams).  The main categories of challenges; puzzles, writing, and  graphics, are the same, but it is not uncommon to have multiple challenges of each type running at the same time.  In addition, with so many members competition is fierce, or at least each challenge can have upwards of 50 entries competing for the top three spots.  Still it is a lot of fun.  Over the last sectional, the teams really seemed to start bonding with each other (at least the teachers did), so if you are interested in the social aspect of a land community, this may be the one for you. 

 

Here I am in team teachers (and again I believe we are the smallest team at the moment) but team cheerios and team new directions are also available.
