Me = not as anti-social as I thought
Jan. 5th, 2008 09:50 pm Tonight, I once again surprised myself with how much fun I can have socializing with people. Due to the nature of archaeology, I spend the majority of my time with some combination of the 20-some people I feild tech with. With them I'm always reluctant to go out and rarely have a particularly good time when I do. Not that they're not fun people, because by and large they are, but I always feel like I have to be on my guard. That and being the "party-pooper" who doesn't see the fun in staying up to all hours drinking before a day of manual labor. I need my eight hours.
Tonight I got to go to dinner with four friends of a friend. Two of whom I've known for months now and can probably be considered friends in their own right, and two who I just met this evening. We ate indian. We teased Greg about not having a plan for his date which he left for halfway through dinner. We compared confirmation-retreat experiences. I laughed. And everyone was ready to head home around 10:00. Really a perfect evening.
