The best part of spending a four-day in Monroe:  Access to movies.  In case you didn't know, and really how could you not? Allison = huge movie buff.  That should probably be huge media buff as I get equally excited about tv, books, and theater, but who's counting.  Anyway, in the past four days I watched (In no particular order)
  • Big Love Season 1 (Disks three and four) - Ridiculously addicted to this show on DVD.  Where dead, and not so dead, Veronica Mars characters go.
  • The Devil Wears Prada - Had to see [profile] undy_niable's movie girlfriend.  How many of you got dragged to The Princess Diaries 2 by your brother.  I thought so.
  • Babel - I think I'm over the concept movie, at least for a while, but loved the parts in Japan.
  • Bee Season  - Much better as a short story.
  • Zodiac - Went to see this with Amy, one of the Maryland archaeologists we are currently working with.  She says it's best Zodiac movie ever with regards to the details of the actual case.  Being not much of a true crime person, I wouldn't know. I can say it was a better realized movie than Black Dalia

In other news, I think I am currently rooming with my psychic twin.  We have the same computers, ipods,  cameras, and many of the same DVD's.  She is using the ring tone I was using before I had to get a new phone. She's read the book I'm reading and I've read the book she's reading.  Plus she writes Harry Potter fanfiction and has an lj which means she must be a fandom dork too (not to mention I've always wanted to write fic).  Really, its very creepy.

SO would a true crime buff like Zodiac then? Or would I get side-tracked by inaccuracies?

*is jealous of you having a psychic twin-rommie*

Not much new up here; we've moved on to the glass vessels after the ceramics got FUBAR'd at the last moment (apparently C. the elder can't differentiate between redware and terra cotta pots; not can she count- mucho missed artifacts, including ONE ENTIRE DOCUMENT BOX-FULL. headdesk), and I got to spend 1.5 hours putting together most of a clorox bottle today.

C. has 2 weeks left. I can't wait.

In totally unrelated thoughts - what did you think of Keppler? And Louise Lombard (Sofia)? May be leaving. Got signed for a pilot for the fall. COuld be interesting...

I'm not entierly sure how I feel about Keppler. I suppose mostly it's another instance of TPTB dropping the ball and seeing the arc through. There was so much promise and yet, we didn't get enough time to know Keppler or care that he was bad?/good?/dead. Which also made Cathrine's (over) emoting ring false. She knew this guy for what, three days?

I know they thing that people only tune into see WP, but If your going to have a character leave for a bit -- have them leave. Don't put in the two second glimpses and have them in the first and last episode of the arc. Make us miss them!

On Sofia leaving or not - I'm likeing her right now, but she really doesn't make or break the show for me. I'll reserve judgement until I see how they get rid of her. (or not)

I hate cat-sitting for my father and not checking my email for a week. *sigh*

I wish they would have made me miss Grissom, because frankly, the shaving scene? Made me wish he was gone again.

I don't knwo if they'd even address it - they didn't when she left in the middle of Season Five (just a couple months after they introduced her) so she could give birth IRL, and they've never addressed Vartann or Vega leaving. Just "Poof!" they're gone. Yet another of my irritations with the writers...

I thought the shaving scene was cute, but then I like GSR. On the other hand, I'm annoyed at their half-assedness about the whole thing. It's like TPTB are trying not to piss anyone off and in the process are pissing everyone off.

The true crime buff I went with really liked Zodiac, so I would have to say give it a chance.
