Road Kill Ponderings

I am now officially back in Louisiana. There are small children whooping and screaming in the indoor pool which is, of course, located directly outside my room. They had better vacate the pool at 10 o'clock when the information book says it closes, or I shall be forced to head out to the parking lot in my blue and green poke-a-dotted pajamas in order to retreive my ear plugs. I really don't want to have to do that.

Driving along today I decided that the main difference between highways in the north and highways in the south, besides the much increased speed limit in the south, is that in the north there is much less road kill. In the five hours I drove today, I must have passed the carcases of twenty deer and an equal number of other assundry animals. And we're not talking the kind where the deer looks like it's sleeping along the side of the road, no these animals looked like they swallowed a bomb which subsequently exploded them all over both lanes. Really not a pleasant sight.
