pinksoniaI would like to know how my roommate has gotten to the age she is (which is much greater than the age I am) without figuring out how to use a trashcan! We have a kitchen trash can with a domed lid that fits on top and has a little swinging door to let in the trash. Kind of like this one but more round. You have to position the lid just right in order to hold up the trash bag, but it's not that difficult and easily done in a couple of tries. Plus if the bag does slip down, it is usually easy to adjust it back up or at least position your trash so that it still goes in the bag.
Instead twice in the last month I have had to deal with a bag that is hopeless bunched at the bottom of the trash can with mounds of garbage on top of it. Mounds of garbage which is largely made up of coffee grounds (I don't drink coffee) and egg shells (I don't like eggs). Tonight there was also what seemed to be a whole glass of water, at least an awful lot of water ended up on the floor when I tried to tip all the trash out into another bag. I wasn't planning on having to clean the kitchen tonight or on having to scrub out the inside of the trash can but I guess that's what I'm going to do. Grrr.
