pinksonia: (Tristan-Tea)
We are having a doozy of a thunderstorm right now.  Bad enough that I have just returned from a trip with my car to find higher ground, which unfortunately means that I will have to trudge a couple of blocks to pick it up in the morning before work (a time at which I will be in nicer clothes and when it is still supposed to be raining).  You know I never understood why people were afraid of thunderstorms until I came down here.  Thunder has never been as loud anywhere else.

But never mind that.  A couple of things from today.
1.  Only eleven rows to go on the large item for my swap package.  Yay.  As usually happens when I go on a concentrated knitting binge, I've been putting on lots of tv shows as background noise.  In particular for this outing: Series Two of All Creatures Great and Small.  That has had the unfortunate side effect that I now want to knit a terribly intricate fairisle sweater vest.  I don't wear sweater vests, know one I know wears sweater vests, and yet I have the desire to knit one.  I may have to content myself with a little Helen-esq cap sleeve sweater instead.  At least that I will wear.

2. On the subject of All Creatures Great and Small, did Tristan spend as much time hungover in the books as he does in the show?  I only ask because I know that the book was one of our options for summer reading in middle school (one I did not take because I've never been a particular fan of the hymn that the title comes from) and the drinking (and womanizing) seem like something the school would have objected to.

3.  I have been remiss in posting this photo for [livejournal.com profile] wolfryder from Gally.  Read more... )
