Apparently My Car has Decided to Hate Me.
Dec. 13th, 2009 01:36 pmSo let me tell you about the drama of trying to fix my car. For a couple of months now the window on the rear drivers side will either not stay up or not go all the way up. My friend who is good at all thinks mechanical and fixy, figured out that it was a broken window regulator. We ordered the part and it was my job to do the installation and put the inside of the door back on the outside of the door.
First it took a while for the part to come in. Then I had to wait until I had time and access to somewhere safe to do the work (I have on street parking at a pretty busy intersection, so I couldn't just work on it at my house). Thisten twenty-two day I had to bring my car with me anyway, so I thought the hotel parking lot would be a perfect place to do the work. The first time I tried, I found that I didn't have the right screw-driver to remove the motor from the window regulator. I got the correct screwdriver and removed the motor only to find that it doesn't have the correct interlocking parts to fit on the new regulator. They old three-pronged peg trying to fit in a square hole dilemma. So now I've had to order another part in the hopes that this one will work out correctly. Hopefully this part will come before I return to Pennsylvania on the 20th.
At least I got to look bad-ass in front of the crew as I was fiddling with my car in the hotel parking lot.
On an unrelated note, I don't suppose anyone has a pattern (or is way better than me at figuring out one from a picture) for the hat Emma was wearing at the end of "Sectionals." It's the white one that was paired with the green pea-coat.
