I spent today with the most adorable kitten. Granted, I guess all kittens are the most adorable kitten while you are in their presence. My college roommate now works for the English Department of the school we both attended, a school that has a rather large population of feral cats. Her boss is very involved in feeding the cats, catching the older ones to get them fixed, and catching young kittens to socialize them for adoption. Peanut (who got her name expanded over the course of the afternoon to be Peanut Bronte, this is an English Department after all) is one of the latest captures and oh so sweet.
She is gray with a white face and paws and big green eyes. I'm not sure I've ever heard a cat purr so loudly or so long. I don't think she stopped at all during the two or so hours I was present, not even during the time she seemed to fall asleep on my shoulder. Oh how I wish I had a job that didn't require me to leave town for 10 days at a time (not exactly a fair life for any animal) and a landlord that allowed me to have a cat. *pout*
I also saw one of my Project Managers at the bar last night which I felt kind of bad about. Most of the workers at my level in the company live in one part of town while the higher ups tend to live in the part of town near the Universities or outside of the city. I'm sort of in between the two, as I know the University area well having gone to school there. Anyway, I felt like I was encroaching on someone else area. Much like I felt in high school when my friends thought it was hilarious to figure out where teachers lived and film their houses for projects. I hated when they would do that, because really, that is just creepy.
