Yeah! Lab Work
Feb. 26th, 2009 07:49 pmTomorrow is my last day working in house. I've been in the office for most of the last two weeks (not including the Monday of last week while I recovered from Gallifrey One, and Tuesday of this week which was Mardi Gras). It's kind of sad that my favorite part of it -- coming home to my own apartment every night -- is something that people with normal jobs get to do all the time. It was great! I got to cook in my kitchen and sleep in my own bed. I even had house guests. Amazing.
Now I'm sad to have to go back into the field. I like lab work - most people find it rediculously boring. I get to listen to my books-on-tape and my podcasts. I get to see all the artifacts, not just the ones from my unit, which means I get a better sense of the site. I used to work in the lab all the time, and I often wish I still did, though at that time all I wanted was to go out into the field. What I really need is someplace that will let me do a 60-40 split either way.
