I'm glad I went to the parades tonight, since I leave town tomorrow and will miss the rest of the Mardi Gras season, but I could have done without the rain. The new krewe that rolled tonight, Nyx, was actually pretty impressive. They are clearly setting themselves up to be a super-krewe. It makes me wonder how long they will be content with a Wednesday night time slot. I mean, practically ever float was a double decker -- and it is only their first year. I was also impressed that the krewe was just as multi-cultural as advertised and that there seemed to be a lot of young womem.
All in all a good time. I got some glass beads, a stuffed pig and a change purse, and was quite enjoying myself until some guy who was way too drunk for a Wednesday night felt the need to stand directly in front of me and jump up and down constantly. He was a very flail-y drunk and I was both afraid of getting hit and my feet were soaked so I left a little early.
GALLIFREY ONE tomorrow. I'm not sure how it snuck up on me but I AM EXCITE!
