So what are that chances that I can say "That he's incompetant" in general conversation?

This is going to be one of those posts with a lot of things I've been meaning to put here -- in bullet point-esq form -- because I fail at that whole timely manner thing.  Er yeah. Also I changed me default icon.  Just felt like that needed to be said.

So first, I get to be promoted in October.  Friday I got the choice of having the promotion now or waiting until October, the main difference being that if I wait I can have more of a raise because for some reason I will only be eligible for a merit increase in October and only if I'm still an A2 at that point.  I don't know.  Since archaeologists are statistically the most poorly paid skilled workers, and I've already been doing the new job for a year or so now so its not like my day to day is going to change any, I figured I might as well take what I could get.  I still can't wait for the point in time when all the credit cards in my wallet will have the same name on them and that name will be mine.  I hate feeling like a criminal, even though I'm not.

Then a bunch of Dr. Who related things
  • I made this motivational poster for [livejournal.com profile] drwholand and it even came in third.  I may have (by which I mean totally did) steal the text from Cobwebs.  I've decided that for this round I'm representing the classics, so all of my entries will be from classic episodes.  I rarely place, but that probably has to do with my lack of skills.
  • Speaking of Cobwebs there may have been a lot of flailing and jumping around the room recently in my house.  You know first when I heard the preview, then with the first episode and finally from the whole thing.  I feel a little guilty in that reaction, as I clearly haven't been waiting as long for a reunion.  My wait was, um less than a week.  But, I suppose the fact that I spent my vacation watching all four series of The Last Detective instead of Who as I meant to because I some how couldn't bring my self to put "Resurrection of the Daleks" into the DVD player, means that I officially have to own up to being a Tegan fan-girl.  And I was doing so well with going with the constantly changing cast flow.
  • I also have a new convert, [livejournal.com profile] phoenix_silaqui.  She came along to our girls night in last Sunday.  How much do I love that I now have a group of people who think "We should have a girls night in.  We should get pop-corn, cream puffs, a cookie cake, vegetable tray, and clearance rose, and watch DVR'd episodes off BBC America."  After that night there was torrenting of the Big Bang and a new Eleven fan-girl was officially born.
  • I also greatly love the fact that I have friends who IM me to say "you should come with me to the bead shop to pick out charms because I want to make you a Five themed chatelaine."  I have friends that both know what a chatelaine is and can make one!
There is a possibility there will be another one of these tomorrow featuring a photo from the prom-party and a couple of photos of knitted objects.  Then again, we all remember what I said at the top re: a timely manner, so maybe not.

And what a convert I am. I not only torrented because I simply could not help myself, last weekend when there was a 13 hour marathon of this last series on BBC America, I dutifully set the alarm and watched THEM ALL. And they were awesome.
