Yeah Texas! also SCAPC
Work finally sent me out of the state of Louisiana. Yeah Texas! Wow, how that was something I never thought would come out of my mouth.
In other news, I am being introduced as a new member of the congregation this coming Sunday at St. Charles Ave. Presbyterian Church. Right now it is seeming like more trouble than it's worth. For the last two days I've gotten calls in the field related to this shin-dig. The first was from a woman assigned to sit with me during the service wondering if I had any questions about that (not really since I spent my college years attending this same church. Also is it the best idea to tell me that you have been assigned to sit with me). Today, it was the church office needing my picture for the bulletin (made more difficult by the fact that I am currently in Texas, but luckily I was able to email a picture.)
I'm supposed to show up an hour and fifteen minutes before the service starts in order to meet with the leaders of the activities I expressed interest in. Due to my erratic schedule, and the fact that I want to be able to fulfill any commitments that I make, I only expressed interest in the choir. The choir has rehearsal at that time, and I highly doubt that the choir master is going to skip his own rehearsal in order to meet with me, so it could be a long hour and fifteen minutes of staring at the woman assigned to sit with me in church. Oh well. At least I have a chance of rejoining a singing group, the thing I've missed most in the past nine months.
