I found my first flake. It was sitting there all nice and pretty and pink right next to one of my shovel tests. This means two things:

I can actually recognize a flake if I see one. This was not a sure thing. I was pretty much winging it at my last job, which may have been bad.
I can actually spot a flake in a ped survey type context.

This makes me excited despite the fact that I am still in no way interested in pre-historic artifacts. Still a rock!

Yeah, that would be the Pedestrian survey. We like to sound all fancy, and how can you not sound fancy using the word Pedestrian.
