Yikes. Sadly, that sounds familiar. I personally don't have any interest in owning a Mac - I've heard too many horror stories. Of course, since my laptop is nearly a decade old, I'd love a new one. But I weighed the option of a trip to NYC (complete with tickets to see Bradley Whitford in Boeing Boeing) against a new laptop and the choice was obvious. Mine still works fine. Well, as long as I don't want to do more than one thing at once.
(btw, it's because it's 'restful'... with one 'l'. But don't feel bad. I just spent five minutes trying to figure out how to spell 'now' - it just looked wrong that way)
