Icon Meme

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!

Very rarely do I make my own icons (though I am starting to do so more), so I'll start off by saying this is by [livejournal.com profile] leggyslove.  Usually my first criterion in picking an icon is whether or not I'll ever have a chance to use it.  This is my knitting icon.  And kitties are adorable.

This one is by [livejournal.com profile] madeelly.  I'm going to confess here.  I like Rose.  I like Rose with Nine, I like Rose with Ten, I like Rose hanging around with her self and her family.  Then again I also like Donna and to a slightly lesser degree Martha (and that slightly lesser degree is mostly because I think I'm most like Martha and not usually in ways I like).  Also it's my squee icon.  I'm kind-of bad at squee, so I don't do it very often.  I also periodically contemplate getting rid of this icon mostly because the colors are in a much brighter palate then I tend to go for.

And here we have one from [livejournal.com profile] guilty_icons.  The X-Files was my first online fandom back in what? 1998 or so.  I taught me about fandom: the definitions of fanfic and shippers, how to be obsessive, that episodes have titles, and all sorts of other wonders of the internet.  Mostly I adore Scully (and still want to be her on most days) but sometimes you just need a little Cancer Man in your life.  This is my "today was a cranky day" icon.  Also, the thought of Cancer Man on LJ cracks me up.

From [livejournal.com profile] starofthemorn via the [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti auctions.  The Sound of Music has been one of my favorite movies since I was three.  I was the kid who's favorite song was "Climb Every Mountain", I made a felt picture of and abbey in pre-school instead of a picture of my house like everyone else, and I told my mother that I wanted to be a Nun when I grew up (to which she calmly explained that we were Presbyterian and didn't have Nuns.)    When I got the chance to have someone make me a set of icons, I decided that I was not accurately representing my love of musical theater so I requested some from both The Sound of Music and 1776 two of my favorites that also happen to be movies.

This one I actually made myself.  I'm an archaeologist and tend to post about work a fair amount (at least a fair amount by my standards.)  I had one archaeology related icon.  but I often felt bad using it because it made it seem like I was always mad at my job -- and I'm really not.  When I decided to make myself a more friendly archaeology icon, Benny was an obvious choice.  I like the character and what I have heard of the audio's so far present archaeology in a realistic, if more glamorous way.  Really anyone that can make caprolite jokes and go on a rant about tourists with metal detectors within their introductory story is okay with me.

I'm in the land challenge community [livejournal.com profile] gleeverse on team teachers.  At the beginning of our current round, [livejournal.com profile] snoozin81 made us all this icon to use as another way to ensure we always get our challenge points (since you don't if you forget to say which team you are on).  I only ever use the icon in that community.
